Policy · Assessment & certificates
What our certificates mean.
How work is assessed on HCD Institute programmes, and exactly what each credential is.
Assessment
Judged on the work.
- ContinuousFaculty review the process as well as the result: research, ideas, prototypes and reflection.
- JuriesMost programmes end in a jury of HCD Institute and DIC Hub, IIT Hyderabad faculty and invited experts.
- AttendanceEach programme sets a minimum attendance. Missing it can mean no certificate.
- ReviewIf you disagree with an outcome, write to us within 14 days of receiving it and another faculty member, where possible one not involved in the original assessment, will review it.
Credentials
Clear about what each one is.
- Programme certificatesMost programmes lead to two certificates: one from HCD Institute and one from DIC Hub, IIT Hyderabad, issued after the work is assessed.
- University awardsWhere a partner university, such as Mahatma Gandhi University, awards a programme, the award, its title and its rules are as set out on the programme page and by that university.
- What they are notUnless a programme page says otherwise, our certificates are professional and continuing-education certificates. They are not university degrees, and they are not approved by bodies such as the UGC or AICTE.
- VerificationEmployers and institutions can write to dic@hcd.institute to verify a certificate.
